Charles M. Auman, Sr.

Charles M. Auman,Sr., 94, of Ormond Beach passed away November 30, 2009.  He was born in Cumberland, Maryland, August 28, 1915.   He was a graduate of Teacher’s College in West Virginia, earned his general contractor’s license and later became the owner/operator of Auman Construction. He came to Ormond Beach in 1962 from Westminster, Maryland.  Charles attended First United Methodist Church in Ormond Beach and his hobbies included RV travel throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna in 2003 and daughter, Donna Hart in 1980. Survivors include his son, Charles, Jr. of Ormond Beach; a daughter, Barbara Joyce Thompson of Pittsford, Vermont; two step-brothers, Earl and Gerald Gordon; a one step-sister, Gladys Fishpaw; seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.    There will be a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Haigh-Black Funeral Home, 167 Vining Court, Ormond Beach.  Interment will follow at Volusia Memorial Park.  His family will receive friends at the funeral Saturday prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
