Alice Rose Cason Henry
10/27/1930 - 12/19/2009



Alice Rose Cason Henry, 79, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2009.  Born October 27, 1930, she was the only child of Mildred Pitts.  She was a lifelong Floridian, born in Ocala and living in Tampa before moving to Daytona Beach in 1947.   Alice married her sweetheart, Francis Henry in 1948.  They worked together at the Ormond Beach Recreation Department where Alice was the program supervisor for twenty five years.  The fond memories of friends she met there along the way stayed with her always.  Mrs. Henry was also a charter member of the American Business Women's Association and the Florida Recreation and Park Association.

Alice is survived by her husband of sixty one years, Francis;  their daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Rick Miller; grandson, Matthew and his wife Stacey; and granddaughter Michelle.  She was a very proud great-grandmother to Macey Erin and dear friend to many. 

A private memorial service will be held for family and close friends.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Alice's honor to Friends of Recreation, 675 Riverside Drive, Ormond Beach FL 32176.

We were so sorry to hear about Alices death. We had not heard from her in about two months. She wrote me and said she was going to visit Debbie and when she got home we would go to lunch. We loved her like a mother. She was a dear friend to my whole family.We have been friends for 40 years and she watched my children grow up. We will miss her dearly, all the long phone calls, cards,and many get togethers she and Frank have shared with us over our many years as dear friends.Please give our love to Frank and the whole family.
