GIFFORD, EMILY C.-age 91, surrounded by her family, entered into Eternal rest to be with her husband and the love of her life, Arthur, and our Lord, on Tuesday, June 22, 2010. Born in Greenwich, CT, Mrs. Gifford moved from Mamaroneck, NY, to Ormond Beach in 1979. She was an active member of St. James Episcopal Church and a life-long member and Past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter # 227 in Harrison, NY. She was a hospital volunteer, and during her life enjoyed many opportunities to travel around the world. Mrs. Gifford lived passionately to serve others. Her laughter, compassion, and daily celebration of life will be deeply missed by all.
She was the daughter of Rasmus and Emilie Holst, who emigrated from Denmark, and sister of Edith Gladstone, the late Ruth Peters, and Robert Holst. She is survived by her three daughters, Dawn Minette and husband Ronald, Oneonta, NY, Barbara Lupino and husband Kenneth, Winter Park, FL, and Elizabeth Gifford and fiancé, Richard Maffei, Altamonte Springs, FL, and 7 nieces and nephews. She adored her grandchildren and their families; Michael, Kent, Kyra, Korrie, Amber, Christopher, and Meghan, as well as 11 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 29th, 10 AM at St. James Episcopal Church, 44 South Halifax Dr., Ormond Beach, 386-677-0872, and officiated by The Rev. Fred Hovey and The Rev. Judy Mathis, Deacon; interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
