Frederic W. Anderson, 91 of Ormond Beach passed away Friday July 9, 2010. He was born in New York City, September 12, 1918 to Fritz and Ada Anderson, who came from Sweden as teenagers. Mr. Anderson graduated from New York Polytechnic Institute and Harvard Graduate School and was a World War II Veteran, who served in the South Pacific for two and one half years and retired from the U.S. Navy as a Commander. He worked for AT&T and RCA on their Technical Staff. After retiring as Program Manager from Raytheon Company, Frederic moved from Concord, Massachusetts to Ormond Beach in 1981.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Ormond Beach, the Oceanside Country Club and Halifax River Yacht Club. He served as a volunteer at Florida Hospital Ormond Memorial. His hobbies included Tennis, Golf, Fishing and Boating. He is survived by his wife Theodora North who he married in 1945; four children, daughter Carol and her husband Steven Lin, son Eric and his wife Maureen, twins Peter and his wife Laura and daughter Diane and her husband Brian Hobbs. Mr. Anderson also leaves six grandchildren, Nicholas, Eric, Conor, Kristyn, Benjamin and Reid. A memorial service will be celebrated at First United Methodist Church, 336 S. Halifax Drive in Ormond Beach on Thursday, July 15th at 3:00 pm.
